This version is for Mac OS 8.5 and above only. If you're using Mac OS 8.0 or 8.1 you should use version 1.3.7 instead.
What does “Wapp pro” do?
"Wapp pro" is a window switcher. It displays a menu with every window opened in every application. You can now easily switch to any window (even in the hidden applications).
But that's not all : "Wapp pro" is more than a simple window switcher :
- You can quit or hide an application with a single click (or with a single key press) without having to switch to it. You can also quit all the applications (except the ones you have chosen, like SpeedDoubler…) or hide them.
- You can set an auto-hide on switch function to hide the last application when switching to a new one.
- You can navigate through the window list or through the application list with the keyboard.
- You have three special ways of invoking the Wapp pro menu : click&hold in a window's title bar, click everywhere with modifiers keys, and click in hot spots...
And more features that you can discover in the control panel…
And everything is fully customizable to perfectly fit your needs…
Requirements : Mac OS 8.5 or better

Bugs and comments
Send me bug reports, comments or suggestions by e-mail.
Shareware
"Wapp pro" is $10 shareware because I spent many hours to develop it.
It means you can try it out freely during a period of 30 days. After that period, if you decide to keep Wapp pro, you are required to pay $10. It's cheap and has many features, so please, if you decide to keep Wapp pro, support the shareware concept and pay your fee. It enables you to use ANY future version of Wapp pro and it helps me to develop more cool stuff.
Registering
You have several choices to register :
• you can register online by credit card, US check or cash (in many currencies) at http://order.kagi.com/?Q7R&S for secure connection or http://order.kagi.com/?Q7R for non-secure connection.
• or you can send me $10 CASH to my postal address. But this will be longer to process your registration…
Distribution
"Wapp pro" may be freely distributed via electronic bulletin boards, user groups and person to person. When distributed, all accompanying files are to be distributed too.
"Wapp pro" can be put on any site or included on any CD-ROM, but please tell me if you do, so I can send updated versions when available.

Version History
March, 2001: Version 3.1b1
- Added an option to add a menu for each running application just to the right of the help menu. Clicking on an application's icon will switch to that application. Clicking&holding on an icon will display a menu with the application's windows.
- Fixed a problem with the auto-hide feature when it was set to "hide on switch only when using Wapp pro's menu".
- Wapp pro is now generally compatible with Action Menus, although I don't really recommend using both of them at the same time. Some minor options though, listed in the help files, shouldn't be used if Action Menus is installed.
- Added an option not to display icons in submenus of Finder's windows.
March, 2001: Version 3.0
- Wapp pro has been entirely rewritten to be much faster.
- Wapp pro can now track changes of windows fom applications that are in background.
- If an application is hidden, Wapp pro now dims its icon, like in the applications menu.
- Added a new exclusion list : applications, that when switching from, prevent auto-hiding.
January, 2001: Version 2.9
- Windows switching didn't work in some Carbonized applications (CodeWarrior 6, Constructor 2.5, AppleWorks 6, iCab for X, PowerMail for X...). Fixed.
- When browsing Finder's windows, if an alias' name was different from the original item's name, Wapp pro could fail to open it. Fixed.
- Dropped the Application Switcher Palette support.... Yep, sorry, this support was awkward anyway.... and A-Dock gives a far better integration with Wapp pro and offers more functions...
November, 2000: Version 2.8.1
- Added support for BBEdit.
- Added an “arrow-with-spinning-beachball” cursor when loading large folders' content in Wapp pro's menu to show that Wapp pro is busy loading the folder's content.
- Proxy-icons are now displayed in Wapp pro's menu for each application the uses them.
- Added support for Mac OS 9 packages and Mac OS X application bundles when browsing folders inside Wapp pro's menu (ie. you can't access their content like in the Finder).
July, 2000: Version 2.8
- Fixed problems switching windows in Word 98 and WordPerfect 3.5
- The delay to display Finder's windows content in submenus has been modified. It no longer depends on the computer speed, and can now be set in seconds (from 0.1s to 1.0s)
- Added an option to display the content of Finder's windows using a small font to look closer to the Finder's list view.
- Rewrote entirely the Hide, Hide Others, Hide All and Auto-hide functions. It's now faster and more efficient.
June, 2000: Version 2.7.2
- The "click&hold in window's title bar" function could work even if it was disabled in the control panel. Fixed.
- When a non-modal dialog was displayed, clicking on the disabled menubar could crash and quit the front application. Fixed.
- Improved reliability when more than 80 applications have been launched during one session.
- Improved speed performance a bit.
May, 2000: Version 2.7.1
- Fixed problems when switching Graphic Converter 2.8+ windows where the floating windows could be sent behind normal windows.
- Sherlock 2 windows are now correctly recognized.
April, 2000: Version 2.7
• First version to support A-Dock
April, 2000: Version 2.6.2
• From v2.6.1, in some rare circumstances, then popup menu could appear when switching to a window using Wapp pro's menu. Fixed.
• The links from the control panel stopped working on some systems. Fixed.
April, 2000: Version 2.6.1
• Fixed a hanging bug when using keyboard cycling from an application chosen in the list "Apps that keyboard cycling will skip".
• Better recognition of the app switcher palette when clicking&holding to invoke Wapp pro's menu. Some clicks might still pass through.
• From v2.6, it was impossible to select the option "Copy of the Applications menu". Fixed.
April, 2000: Version 2.6
• The help commands from Eudora 4.2+ still didn't work properly. Thus, the "Update App Switcher Info" command is no longer located in the Help menu. Instead, it can be found at the end of Wapp pro's menu when (and only when) you hold down the control key before activating Wapp pro's menu. Be careful, this command WILL NOT appear in the Applications Menu. It is only available in Wapp pro's menu !!
• Shortcuts for Quit All, Hide All, Quit Others and Hide Others were working even if the commands (but not the shortcuts) were disabled in the control panel. Fixed.
• Rewrote the code for Hide All and Hide Others commands. Previously, it was sometimes necessary to invoke the commands twice to hide all the apps.
• Added two new options to hide applications when switching using Wapp pro's menu. When the auto-hide function is not enabled, holding down some modifier keys while selecting an application in Wapp pro's menu can hide the last app, or hide all the others apps.
• Fixed a small weird behavior in the auto-hide function.
